{random} i'll keep the book, thank you very much.

i read the time traveler's wife last summer and absolutely fell in love with it...no book can ever compare now to the love i have for the character's in this story..i miss having henry and claire in my life, so much so that my husband and i have agreed to name our children after them! well..henry at least...so when i heard the movie was coming out, i was ecstatic!

well, after reading the reviews, i just can't bare to see a beautiful story ripped to shreds and i refuse to see it, for fear that i will no longer love the characters as i have imagined them in my mind. and come to think of it, i don't ever remember a movie telling the story as beautifully as any book can do..have you?

i too fell in love with the book instantly. i read it in one evening...i couldn't bare to put it down. i am a big movie goer, i love them about as much as i love reading. so when one of my all time favorite books is made into a film, i can't stop myself from going. i do my best to remind myself that there is no way they can have the detail the book has or know what i think the characters should look like...and that usually helps. i think it is fun to see something that you've only ever imagined up on the big screen. i saw the movie and although it doesn't compare to the quality of the book i left satisfied.

How funny - I'm reading this book right this very moment and am loving it to pieces. I willed myself to read it before seeing the movie, which I still plan to do. Probably won't compare but I heart Rachel McAdams too much to stop myself. Bring the kleenex!

I read the book two years ago and was fanatical about it. It is such a beautiful story and while the movie certainly can't compare to the book (do they ever?), I was impressed. The film portrays their love in just as a romantic and believable fashion as the book and of course Rachel McAdams is wonderful. I definitely recommend it, but be prepared to cry... A LOT.

I cannot agree more! I woke up early every morning of our honeymoon to read the book on our balcony overlooking the aegean in Santorini, which made the whole experience that much more special and romantic. I hate that the movie is getting horrible reviews, but you are right - movies are never as good as the book anyway!

I find I am never a fan of movies of books I love and this was no exception. The movie made me want to travel back in time and slap myself for going to watch.
